An account is not a website but your own personal shop window through which you can buy, sell or swap.
For individuals
This is for everybody - private individuals, tradesmen, professionals and companies alike. But the heart and soul lies with individuals who want to take control by creating their own account. Our role is to match the contents of each account with potential buyers. As an individual you can place as many items in your account to sell as you like - for free. Also, there are no limits.
So, if you want to clear your garage, search for products and services or find your next holiday, you can do it all through your own personal account. Our core philosophy is low cost. Private individuals can open an account for a whole year for just £10. This allows you to sell as many items as they like for free. Low cost, no limits, full control. This is how the internet was meant to be!
For services
Very few companies offer a single product or service, but instead need to promote a range of services in order to maximize their profitability. We are ideal for small companies and service providers because for just £150 (+VAT) a year you can advertise yourself as often as you like in our Business Directory. For example a plumber could promote themselves as a 'heating engineer', 'plumber' or 'central heating fitter' - the choice is yours. Similarly, a restaurant could advertise themselves as a 'Restaurant' or by events such as 'Gourmet Evenings' or 'Children's Parties'.
For retailers - there are two account types
For larger companies with an extensive product range there are two types of account to choose from. A Retail Account is just £250 (+VAT) a year and ensures that you have total access to all areas of The Peoples Web. This means that your products will be featured in our Browse, Quick Search and site Search sections. In addition, your company will be listed in both the Retail and Services Directories.
However, creating individual product advertisements is time consuming and inefficient. So if you would like us to upload your entire product range for you, then you need to open a RetailPlus Account. We take all of the hassle out of adding your products to the site and we do this for just £500 (+VAT) a year. We can take a spreadsheet or CSV file or XML feed from you of all of your products any number of times a year.
How are we so economical?
Firstly, internet costs are falling and we pass these savings on to you the user. Secondly, the 'account' concept allows us to run a unique low cost business model with very low overheads.
We do not have the baggage associated with traditional advertising mediums such as magazines, business directories or newspapers. This means that you benefit from our innovative cost base. If you are paying more than our charges a year to sell your items, then you need to ask yourself why?
We are not a middleman, we are a matchmaker
Our role as a matchmaker gives us a unique position in the market place. We are not a part of the commercial chain - we do not seek commission from you or to profit from the transaction between you and the buyer - we leave that to you. As a result we are the lowest cost operator on the internet and intend to remain that way. We also give the control back to you. Once an account has been opened you are free to fill it with as many items as you like - there are no limits. There are no hidden charges; you simply have the freedom to run your account as you wish. Each item that you wish to feature can have its own description and photograph.
To start advertising you need to open a Peoples, Service or Retail Account. All users can browse the site, but if you want to see the details of private sellers, you then need to register your details with us. Registration is free.
